Mat has conducted the Broadway companies of The Book of Mormon, Elf, Promises, Promises, Next to Normal, Bye Bye Birdie, Thirteen, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Fiddler On The Roof, Avenue Q, 42nd Street, and Les Miserables. He has played keyboards in the pit orchestras of 9 to 5, Aida, Annie, The Apple Tree, Bombay Dreams, The Book of Mormon, Candide, A Class Act, Dracula, Follies (2011), Fosse, Hairspray, The Grinch, Legally Blonde, The Lion King, Mamma Mia, Mary Poppins, Once Upon a Mattress, The People in the Picture, Ragtime, Shrek, Sister Act, Spiderman, Titanic, The Wedding Singer, The Woman in White, Wonderland and The Radio City Xmas Spectacular. Mat has performed/recorded with Tovah Feldshuh, David Hyde Pierce, Lou Diamond Phillips, Peter Yarrow, Malcolm Gets, Raul Esparza, Brain D'Arcy James, Laura Benanti, Katie Finneran, Beth Leavel, Karen Mason, Will Chase, Glory Crampton, Farah Alvin, Kate Baldwin, Gary Mauer, Jenn Collela, Sarah Uriarte Berry, Kate Shindle, Hinton Battle, Ivan Rutherford, Carey Anderson, Heather MacRae, and Jessica Grove on the stages of Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincon Center, Town Hall and more. He can be heard on the recordings of Elf, Promises Promises 2010 Revival, Kitty's Kisses, Midlife (The Crisis Musical), Woken Up (Carey Anderson) and Love on a Sunday Afternoon (Songs of Sam Davis). Off Broadway and Regional credits: I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (NYC- Music Direction), Tails (Off-B'way MD/Arranger/Orchestrator), Prairie (NYSAF and Guthrie), Little Miss Sunshine (La Jolla Playhouse), Palm Beach (La Jolla Playhouse), Thirteen (Goodspeed), Time and Again (Manhattan Theatre Club), Sondheim 75th Birthday Celebration (orchestrations), and Tovah Feldshuh, Out of Her Mind (Feinsteins). He studied piano and composition at the Eastman School and Queens College and is a member of the BMI Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop. Most recent film credits are: Blood Dectectives (aired 4/10 and 12/08 Discovery Health Channel, Sister Servant, It's Always Somethin' (2006 Ripfest), semi-finalist in the 2004 and 2005 Turner Classics Young Film Composer Competition, Hopscotch, (2004 Hamptons Film Festival) and numerous national commercials for Palmer's Cocoa Butter. Composer of the musicals: The Adventures of Mottel, (Productions: 3/07, 2/08 Merkin Concert Hall), Rhonda, Queen of the Amazon, and Desiree of Beverly Hills, (NYC Bad Musicals Festival 2006) with Peter Charles Morris. |
